The Exploitation of Casual Workers.
Dear Fellow Casuals, Friends. For many decades the US Postal Service has been using casual workers for the same work as regular workers paying them about half of what they pay the regular workers. Casual workers receive no benefits from the US Postal service. Coming from Europe, as I did in 1990 when I moved here from Germany, I can tell you, this is incomprehensible for me. This kind of "caste" system, I would rather expect in India, but not in the USA. Isn’t the USA supposed to be the most advanced country in the world? Together with a friend we created this web site in order to bring about positive changes for the casual workers in the USPS. Dear US Postal Service, We live in the 21st century, not the 19th century. It is about time that the exploitation of and the discrimination against a part of its working force - the casuals - comes to an end. This is especially true concerning casuals who have been employed with the Postal Service for many years ie: 8,10,15 years or even decades. I hope to get the support of all casuals and all friends. Sincerely, Jiri Web master
